Interest-only mortgage

With an interest-only mortgage, no mandatory repayment is made during the term.

With an interest-only mortgage, the borrower pays interest but does not make scheduled repayments during the term. The mortgage debt remains outstanding and must be repaid later. This can create lower monthly payments, but also higher long-term risk.
